10600S memory is slightly faster than the 8500S., however you will not notice any difference since the speed of the computer is controlled by the motherboard. I offer the 8500S and the 10600S on separate listings.

I have found you can use them interchangeable on a Macbook Pro that
will accept 8500S. the S is the laptop version of the 8500, same with
the 10600 and 10600.

10600/8 = 1333MHz vs 8500/8 = 1066Mhz ; on a desktop the gain is 1~3% assuming the same CAS, bottom-line you will NOT feel any gain or loss from frequency differences. However, going from 2GB to 4GB will yield better performance and increased battery life.
